Nestled in the small county of Ogemaw is Rose City. This is a small town in Michigan, located in the northwestern part of the state. It has scenery out of a story book. Small shops are located throughout the town. You can buy anything from small, unique goods to groceries to accompany you on your tour.
In 1875 this area was originally called Churchill, this all changed in 1892 when the railroad started to go through. The city was then re-titled for the founder, Allen S. Rose. Mr. Rose relocated from New York City to Michigan. Although this place was founded in 1875, it was not incorporated until 1905.
The average age of someone living here is 44.6 years. The amount of people that live in this area is 653, many of them have jobs at factories. The most common factories in this area are auto part, machinery and plastics. While most people hold jobs at factories, there are also people who work at small businesses throughout the area.
An amazing area of wilderness with 4,449 acres is located a mere three miles from the city! It is a large, beautiful recreational area. It used to be privately owned, but it was snatched up and thankfully made available to everyone. This is a great area for nature loving activities. You can do things like cross-country skiing, fishing, boating, hunting, swimming, canoeing and hiking.
Would you love to feel the wind through your hair and the sun kissing your skin, while floating down the river in a boat or canoe? You could be calmly enjoying your free time, no work to worry about. This would be the perfect time to become one with nature.
If you are not one for nature, then why not check out the variety of shops? There is a bundle of small shops in the area. There is also a 70 acre lake where paddle boats can be rented and you can enjoy this amazing opportunity to be on the water. Also not far from this area, only about 30 minutes, you can find other stores to shop at.
Conveniently located in this town are several auto shops. These included paint, repair, collision, and places to buy new and used cars. So there are no worries if something happens while you are visiting!
Also found here are various restaurants. These restaurants are generally mom and pop owned, but there are a few chains mixed in. You will get a unique experience and some delicious food as well.
